2023 BWF World Championships: Indonesia Badminton Team Holds First Practice

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian badminton team on Saturday, August 19, held the first practice for the preparation of the 2023 BWF World Championships. Today’s practice was held in two sessions in different locations.

The first session started in the morning at 09:00 local time and was held for 60 minutes at the training field at the complex of Brondby Stadium, Denmark. The second session was held in the afternoon for 90 minutes at the Royal Arena which will be used as the location of the world championship.

Head of the Development and Achievement Division of the Indonesia badminton association PBSI, Rionny Mainaky, said that this short preparation must be optimized in order to achieve the best results in the championship. He wants athletes to be able to meet the targets.

“Today we can practice for the first time. Hopefully, everyone can take great responsibility by practicing as much as possible here. Hopefully, the training can be maximized to achieve the best results after we failed in previous tournaments,” he said as quoted from PBSI’s official statement.

The Indonesian badminton team will start at the 2023 Badminton World Championships on Monday, August 21. PBSI targeted three wins from the men’s singles, women’s doubles, and women’s singles.
